Description of problem:
every new tab or window i do, always is immediately in the same workdir as the one i was standing on.

This is actually already there for a long time, but it's very irritating... Can this be shut off? (maybe even by default?)

Yes it's a configure option.

In the settings menu, you can edit/configure your profil

Personally i do like this behaviour & it's also the same as upstream.
