A few steps later, when offering to update the system, it fails again with this 2nd screenshot. I don't know why it lists the 32 bit repo, because I didn't select it earlier in the installation process.

I agree totally. Currently, as ISO points to Cauldron repositories, installing with Classical ISO should be done "offline" and go "online" after first boot. Also, this needs to be retested after Cauldron will be frozen. Note that after first boot, I added online repositories and all are fine. CC:

Created attachment 12073 [details] screenshot When selecting the Tainted Updates repository, the Mageia 8 beta 2 ISO fails with the error displayed in the screenshot. This doesn't stop the installer, but I guess this repository is not included.
