lloyd.osten Thank you for the report.
Can you say what desktop you used?
And the k3b version ($ rpm -q k3b).
Were you using a 'real' Mageia to run k3b, or one in a virtual box? It looks like the latter.
Does this only happen after writing an ISO DVD? Or doing any operation involving the DVD device? What happens if you try closing an otherwise unused k3b window (where you have not done anything with a DVD)?
> to close K3B using the icon in the top right corner of the program
Do you mean the 'X' ?
Did you try File-Exit ?
Did you try Ctrl/Q ?
Did you try (desperate measure) Alt/F4 ?
Trying the same exercise (but with a smaller ISO) under Mate, fully up-to-date M8 system on real hardware: k3b-20.08.3-1.mga8
Asked for verification as per the description. It has just finished, and ejected the DVD. Writing window 'Success'. Closed it by its close button. Back to the main k3b window. Click the top right 'X' - and it closed...
Re-raising k3b (without re-writing the ISO DVD) confirmed that both File-Exit & Ctrl/Q worked.
I am wondering whether this might be a VB consequence re the DVD device.Source RPM:

0 Thanks for the trial. Not sure whether you meant "Not reproduced ever with..." or "Note: reproduced even with..". @Lloyd : can you comment? (In reply to Lewis Smith from comment #3) > Thanks for the trial. > Not sure whether you meant "Not reproduced ever with..." or "Note: > reproduced even with..". > > @Lloyd : can you comment? Oh sorry. I should comment bugs report on a plain physical keyboard, rather a tablet. Sometimes I don't reread myself. Also, this is not "good" grammatically. I would said: "Never reproduced with recent updated K3b". k3b-20.12.0-1.mga8 Close resolved fixed? @Lloyd: can you please confirm whether or not this latest k3b fixes the problem? If you do not say the problem is still there, the bug will be closed. This really isn't a big deal, I guess. I hardly ver burn CD/DVD any more, except for a couple of friends who don't do streaming.I think my system is actually missing something (maybe due to uninstalling something BTW, Brasero worked fine under Virtualbox. At any rate, once Mageia 8 Final has been released, I'm going to wipe it all out and do a fresh install. So, you may close this bug. Thank you. Feel free to repoen if issue persists after Mageia 8 release. Whereas I can't understand how to burn a disc inside a Virtual Machine, the best you can do the new time it appears, and if ever reproducible, please join output of: (as root) # journalctl -b > /tmp/bootlog.txt to even find a clue on this non-closing window.
