SUMMARY
Ksudoku unable to read saved puzzle
Message : impossible to read line 1 of the xml file

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. play Ksudoku
2. save a puzzle and stop Ksudoku
3. Start Ksudoku and "party"/"load"

OBSERVED RESULT
1- if in the saved file you erase the first line it is the same for the modified  file
2-This problem has already been signalled under Mageia 6 and Ksudoku 17.12 and the answer  from KDE bugzilla  : was "you have to update Ksudoku"

?? The version are managed by Mageia !

save, read and play a non finished party

This bug has been once more signaled to KDE bugzilla  for KSudoku 19.04
it seems to be a Mageia problem

We fixed this more than a year ago.

I'm going to suggest you stop using the version packaged by mageia and use the one at flathub that will be more modern https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.kde.ksudoku

Thank you for the report. It implies that there is a more recent version of Ksudoku than ours. The best I can see from the application itself is:
 KSudoku
 Version 1.4
which is imprecise re that shown for the most recent Flatpack referred to:
 1.4.20083
Our latest M7 version (which we call 19.04.0) dates from April 2019.
Cauldron/M8 has been much more active, with many more recent versions up to 19.12.3, then to 20.08.3 - the Flatpak one!

I do not know whether the M7 version can be updated (backported) to a more recent one. Version 19.11/12.x fits "We fixed this more than a year ago".
