Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue.

Please attach your X server config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.*.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the bugzilla file attachment link below.

Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf whatsoever and let X11 autodetect your display and video card? Attach to this bug /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt as well, please.

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

I have just tried this on my M7 system, under LxQt desktop. It works fine both from the menu, and command line:
 $ /usr/games/trackballs
 Welcome to Trackballs.
 Using /usr/share/games/trackballs as gamedata directory.
 $

@Bill
In addition to Aurélien's questions:
- What desktop are you using? Have you another to try?
- What is your video hardware? This will be in the files asked for already, but the "VGA" section of
 $ lspci -v
will say. Mine is:
00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Wrestler [Radeon HD 7310] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
...
        Kernel driver in use: radeon
        Kernel modules: radeon
or more compact & informative, if you have it (it is useful):
 $ inxi -G
Graphics:
  Device-1: AMD Wrestler [Radeon HD 7310] driver: radeon v: kernel
  Display: x11 server: Mageia X.org 1.20.9 driver: ati,radeon,v4l
  resolution: 1366x768~60Hz
  OpenGL: renderer: AMD PALM (DRM 2.50.0 / 5.7.19-desktop-3.mga7 LLVM 8.0.0)
  v: 3.3 Mesa 20.2.1

Not a problem. If it's my system, I'm ok. Just didn't want something that didn't work across the board causing problems in the repositories. Possibly an nVidia thing...
