Description of problem: I can't build wire-desktop from source unless I get nodejs backported from Cauldron.

I know that Wire has an AppImage and that it starts, but if I in the GUI try to open it's Settings menu nothing happens so I want to build wire-desktop from source to see if I can receate this issue before I package it locally.

For that to work I wish to have a newer version of nodejs in Mageia 7.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 14.12

How reproducible: All the time.

Hi, thanks taking time reporting this.

Mageia 7 is currently stable distribution and our policy is to stick with current version of programs/libraries and nodejs can't derogate.

Current upstream recommends are: LTS 12.18.4 and 14.13.0 current.
Mageia 7 ships nodejs-10.22.1-9.mga7
Mageia 8 will ships nodejs-14.12.0-1.mga8

Package in Mageia 7 is an uptream LTS version but in maintenance mode until 2021-04-30.

Can this be a candidate to a backport?
This can only be done on a voluntary basis.

Mageia 7 is EOL since July 1st 2021.
There will not have any further bugfix for this release.

You are encouraged to upgrade to Mageia 8 as soon as possible.

@reporter, if this bug still apply with Mageia 8, please let us know it.

@packager, if you work on the Mageia 7 version of your package, please check the Mageia 8 package if issue is also present. In this case, please fix the Mageia 8 version instead.

This bug report will be closed OLD if there is no further notice within 1st September 2021.

Please reopen this bug report if it is still valid for Mageia 8 or 9(cauldron), and change "Version:" in the upper left of this report accordingly.

This report is being closed as OLD because it was filed against Mageia 7, for which  support ended on June 30th 2021.
