Description AL13N 2011-09-13 10:43:56 CEST
Description of problem:
when committing to svn, using kwallet, the kwallet popup pops up in the background and a notification pops up telling it to switch to kwallet.

the kwallet popup should pop up in the foreground, so that you can immediately type in the password.

Instead you have to click on the "go to kwallet" notification, that pops up kwallet, then click in the kwallet password text field.

this is actually quite annoying...

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install subversion
2. install lib64svn-kwallet0
3. configure kwallet plugin for subversion
4. co and commit some svn stuff
Comment 1 Manuel Hiebel 2011-09-19 00:10:21 CEST
the issue is in kwallet instead of subversion no ?
Comment 2 AL13N 2011-09-19 02:41:51 CEST
well, i think not.

This only happens when using the svn kwallet thingie, which i think falls under the subversion source rpm?

Are you sure that this bugs is due to subversion, please?
Comment 5 AL13N 2011-11-15 19:22:03 CET
well, yes and no. subversion package produces lib64svn-kwallet0 . other kwallet stuff like kmail and such have no issues...

can you reproduce it?

you could also ask upstream?

Is the bug due to subversion, or is that still not clear at all?

actually, recently, iinm i saw this lately in other kwallet related stuff too. kontact etc...

so, maybe it's KDE related after all.

reassigning to bug squad

@ AL13N

iinm is rather vague, I can't assign to mikala when this is all you know, but I'll cc him in case he knows this bug.

setting the NEEDINFO keyword because we need more precise information

Comment 9 AL13N 2012-02-20 19:28:17 CET
that is fine, except that i donno what kind of information i can give...
Comment 10 Marja Van Waes 2012-02-20 20:47:08 CET
Most important, instead of "iinm", you need to be sure.

Then:

Please tell exactly what you did when it went wrong with kontact or another package other than subversion, which versions of which involved packages you use and upload one or more screenshots to make it more clear

Maybe you find some more inspiration here:

Thanks :)

:(

anyway, i was pretty adamant about it having only appeared for svn and not for kontact, kmail or anything else.

but, on cauldron, i now have this one with svn and kontact too.

since the bug is for mga1, i'm just mentioning this, because maybe it IS KDE related, and i donno why kontact doesn't have this problem on mga1 and it does on cauldron.

I changed the summary, maybe other kwallet users have additional info :)

Summary: kwallet subversion popup pops up in the background => kwallet password pop up hidden by foreground screen

Comment 13 Marja Van Waes 2012-03-10 16:00:13 CET
No comments of other kwallet users.

(BTW: If you're right about it being KDE related: I'm a KDE user and I have the same issue with Thunderbird. When I send a mail the little screen in which I need to type my password, often pops up invisibly in the background. I always thought that was a TB bug.)

cc'ing lmenut, maybe he's a kwallet user

This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life.
In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing
updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it
remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not
be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see
this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia,
you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version
of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.

Mageia 1 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on ''1st December''. Mageia 1 is no
longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or
bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Mageia
please feel free to click on "Version" change it against that version of Mageia and reopen this bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
