Hi, thanks for reporting this bug.

Could please tell me one of our RPM packages that has a README.URPMI.install in order to verify on Cauldron ?

Sorry for no remember an official one,
I make this removing the browser require

http://ftp.blogdrake.net/RPMS/tmp/newmoon-lang-es-MX-28.12.0-1bdk.mga7.i586.rpm

If you need i rebuild it for mageia 8

Perhaps ask the devs ? I leave that to you as you are on their mailList (I think). I can then try both M7 & M8.
Never heard of this package before...
"gurpmi is a graphical front-end to urpmi"

Dev asked on dev-ml. Waiting for an answer.
Comment 5 Aurelien Oudelet 2020-09-03 13:01:05 CEST
After discussion on Dev-ml, correct syntax for readme to get display is:

readme.{install,update}.urpmi not readme.uprmi.install

readme.urpmi will always be displayed.

readme.install.urpmi will be displayed at installation, once.

readme.update.urpmi will be displayed at every update.

Can you try with correct syntax?
gurpmi is only here to provide a light GUI.

For GUI usage, use of rpmdrake is more recommended.

The file names are case sensitive. Use

README.urpmi
README.install.urpmi
README.update.urpmi

Testing an install of the bash-completion package, gurpmi outputs the README.install.urpmi to stdout, just like urpmi does. It does not support displaying it in a pop-up window, like rpmdrake does.

Thank you contributors for putting this straight. It seems that gurpmi is doing the right thing. Clearly if one wants more, rpmdrake is the thing to use.
