Hi,
Thanks reporting this problem you encounter.

In order to deal with it, could you produce a screenshot of the problem using spectacle (Mageia => Tools => Spectacle) as you are on Plasma. Add it on this bug report.

Also, could provide Mark, Model of the Notebook PC, and if they exist some references on the battery enclosure.

Have you ever tried Mageia 8 Beta 1 live ISO in order to know if planned new versions of softwares function well?

Battery model, 2 are visible:

N750BAT-4

Computer model:

Clevo NJ50CU

I can see battery level with Mageia 7.1 GNOME & with Mageia 8 beta1

Thanks again helping identify the problem by providing a screenshot.

Seems to be in plasmoid that bug occurs.

What about "Batterie et luminosité" applet in systray? Does it show status when your system is plug on AC? Or only on battery? Does it provide useful informations or nothing?

In such case, could you provide an additional screenshot of this applet?

Comment 5 Guillaume Royer 2020-08-27 13:17:14 CEST
I can't see status when my system is plug on AC.

That only useful information i have, is when battery is under 10%

Thanks again helping identify the problem by providing additional screenshots.

That is reassuring is that your Mageia 7 system DOES see a battery. But you as user do not have a percentage nor time remaining before battery will be empty.

Does acpid.service is running?

$ systemctl status acpid.service
Comment 10 Aurelien Oudelet 2020-08-27 13:28:57 CEST
Also, what does following command give?

 $ upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BAT0
Comment 11 Guillaume Royer 2020-08-27 20:41:31 CEST
acpid.service is ok:

So your battery is well know by under-the-hood tools.

Reporter said this works well on Mageia 8 B1 with Live ISO. So seems problem already fixed upstream.
Comment 15 Aurelien Oudelet 2021-07-06 13:15:30 CEST

Hello,

I confirm, since upgrade to MGA 8, there isn't no more bug with this plasmoid.
It works well
