kate screen with the bug

Description Barry Jackson 2020-08-25 15:12:16 CEST
Description of problem:
During use, kate behaves normally until something causes all except 'New', 'Close' and 'Open' tool icons to vanish. The same missing options vanish from the File menu, leaving no option to save a document.
Attempting to close the application, does however offer the option to save the open document.

I can't find a way to reliably reproduce this yet, and after closing and re-opening kate normal service is resumed until the options again vanish at some point.

I appreciate that without any reliable reproducabilty this report is not very useful, however it may be a focal point for others to comment if they have the same issue.

I might add that I have been using kate daily throughout this Cauldron cycle without issue. I has only happened in the last few days.

I will attach a couple of screen shots with and without the issue.

This is still happening in Cauldron and I notice that when it does the context menu (right click) does not open either.
Closing the document and using the warning dialogue to save it restores the menu and the context menu.

Is this still valid in current mga9 stable release?
