Description Zombie Ryushu 2020-06-14 22:07:01 CEST
I request that iaxmodem be imported from OpenMandriva so that HylaFax can interface with Asterisk. This is a required component for HylaFax to communicate with Asterisk.

Thank you for the suggestion.

http://iaxmodem.sourceforge.net/
IAXmodem is a software modem written in C that uses an IAX channel (commonly provided by an Asterisk PBX system) instead of a traditional phone line and uses a DSP library instead of DSP hardware chipsets.
IAXmodem was originally conceived to function as a fax modem usable with HylaFAX, and it does that well. However IAXmodem also has been known to function with mgetty+sendfax and efax.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might, if there are no license or other legal issues, want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.

You Zombie Ryushu might also want to join the packager team to maintain this piece of software: see https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Becoming_a_Mageia_Packager

We don't package asterisk (and no we won't be re-importing that).
