Description Peter Schwanemann 2011-03-04 09:20:26 CET
Overview:

I have no texlive or texlive-texmf installed on my Mageia system. When updating via urpmi they are in the list anyways. Both packages together have a size of 305MByte, which is much to big for small internet connections.

Steps to Reproduce:

Update Mageia (from DVD installed version) to current version of the rpm repository - in my case (and other users from mandrivauser.de) texlive and texlive-texmf will show up in the list.
Install all updates but not texlive and texlive-texmf
Even after installing all other packages those both packages will be listed as updates, although their previous versions are *not* installed.

It is possible, that this does not happen on an unchanged Mageia System - I installed some tools like gcc, cmake, bzr and similiar for development.

if you have not installed texlive, can you try rpm -qa | grep tetex
Comment 3 Peter Schwanemann 2011-03-05 17:29:03 CET
jepp you are right, I had installed tetex - seems to be a requirement of docbook which is a requirement of some devel packages.

So this is indeed not a bug.

Thanks for clearing things up!

Installed packages

Well I just updated this evening and got 300MB + of texlive stuff that I don't think I want.
I don't have tetex installed (I have no idea what it is for)
Attached is output of rpm -qa | grep -E "tetex|texlive|devel" | sort
