Description Michael Brown 2020-03-13 18:08:52 CET
Description of problem:
After updating to version 430.64 for Kernel 5.5.6, DKMS can not compile and install the video driver, reverts back to nouveau driver after failure.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
430.64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Do clean install of Mageia 7, during install, choose to use Proprietary video driver during install.
2. After install and reboot, let DKMS do the driver compile and install.
3. Verify everything works fine.
4. Do Mageia software update so that Kernel 5.5.6 and current Nvidia driver files are downloaded and installed, reboot after update.
5. DKMS will fail on reboot when trying to compile driver for new Kernel, revert back to nouveau with an error message letting the user know about this and giving 30 seconds before doing another reboot.
6. System reboots and starts with nouveau driver, any future reboots results in the same message that DKMS is trying to compile and fails, but system still boots with nouveau at least, so you still get a desktop with all the Nvidia features disabled.
