Description Daniel Osmari 2011-09-03 11:45:24 CEST
I'm surprised the GNU Data Display Debugger isn't in the distribution. It's the definitive GDB GUI.
Comment 1 Olivier FAURAX 2011-09-03 21:46:42 CEST
I added ddd in Cauldron/core and in Mageia 1/updates_testing.

Please test it and if it's ok, I'll make it pushed to updates.

Pulls in lesstiff, liblesstiff2 & libxp6 from core/release. Is this affected by bug 2317?

Tested on i586 with avidemux and all appears OK.

Comment 4 Olivier FAURAX 2011-09-04 13:07:48 CEST
Launch OK here (i586) also.

I think that pushing from testing to updates is QA work, isn't it ?
Comment 5 claire robinson 2011-09-04 13:24:45 CEST
Kind of. We need to ensure it isn't affected by bug 2317 though first and it needs testing on x86_64 also.
Comment 6 claire robinson 2011-09-04 13:46:37 CEST
Tested OK also on x86_64.

Can anybody verify whether this is affected by bug 2317 please? I've got a feeling it will be.
Comment 7 claire robinson 2011-09-04 14:32:46 CEST
After speaking to the MGA devs it appears this isn't affected, it's only updates for packages which are already in mga1 which have extra requires, so it's OK to validate. Thanks AL13N!

Advisory:

--------------

This update adds the GNU Data Display Debugger which was present in
Mandriva 2010.2 but missing from Mageia 1.

The Data Display Debugger (DDD) is a popular GUI for command-line
debuggers like GDB, DBX, JDB, WDB, XDB, the Perl debugger, and the
Python debugger. DDD allows you to view source texts and provides an
interactive graphical data display, in which data structures are
displayed as graphs. You can use your mouse to dereference pointers
or view structure contents, which are updated every time the program
stops. DDD can debug programs written in Ada, C, C++, Chill, Fortran,
Java, Modula, Pascal, Perl, and Python. DDD provides machine-level
debugging; hypertext source navigation and lookup; breakpoint,
watchpoint, backtrace, and history editors; array plots; undo and
redo; preferences and settings editors; program execution in the
terminal emulation window, debugging on a remote host, an on-line
manual, extensive help on the Motif user interface, and a command-line
interface with full editing, history and completion capabilities.
