Note for QA testers: I plan to also submit darktable 3.0.0 as a backport in parallel to this update. Both should be tested and validated separately (2.6.3 in Updates for users of the current 2.6.2 version, and 3.0.0 in Backports for users who want the latest and greatest).

Updated darktable package brings latest 2.6 version

  This update brings Darktable 2.6.3 to Mageia 7, allowing users to benefit from
  bug fixes done in the 2.7 branch.
  Among other things, this update notably adds support for new camera models.

Installed the update plus dependencies, rather than installing the older version and updating. All packages installed cleanly.

I have limited experience at using The GIMP for photo editing, but none with this application. There is so much that this can do that it would take weeks of study and experimenting to master it. Fortunately, there is very good documentation online, and several video tutorials on Youtube.

I had thought at first that I might not be able to use it, since none of my digital cameras produce RAW images. But, after reading some of the documentation, I saw that it will work with the jpegs I have equally well.

I created and loaded a test folder of some images, and imported it into darktable, then played with several of its features, including brightness/contrast and color correction. Everything seemed to work perfectly.

I cannot test the new camera modules, as I don't have a camera that's on the list. My old Canon Powershot A540 was detected easily, and I was able to import images from the camera with no trouble.

This is OK for 64-bits. More than OK, an excellent tool for the photographer.
