Looking into this, actually running under Mate. For comparison, Mate system settings for 'default applications' shows for: * E-mail - both that I have, Claws-mail & Kmail. * Browser - only 3 of 6: Falkon, Firefox, Web (omitting Dillo, IceApe, Konqueror) For comparison, KDE system settings-Applications-Default applications-Web browser, choosing the application, offers all 6 installed browsers as above, and shows that selected. KDE system settings-Applications-Default applications-Email client, choosing the other-than-Kmail option, shows a blank field with a selection icon on the right. Clicking that shows the entire application menu heirarchy. Finding & double-clicking in my case Claws-mail, *leaves the input field blank*, so you are unsure of the result. I think that is the bug. *** BTAIM, what you chose *does* become the default mail reader when tested independently. -------------- @Jose : Despite the fact that you do not *see* Thunderbird as the selected e-mail program, can you test whether it actually is? I think it will be. For example, in my case, from bug 25470: directly from LibreOffice Writer, File-Send-Document as ODT raises in my case Claws-mail, but just the main window, no new message window nor pre-attachment. Up to you. Doing the same thing with Kmail as the default e-mail program not only raises Kmail new message window, but pre-attaches the document. mageia I've tried to select Thunderbird from the rute /bin/thunderbird and put in the window. Now appear /bin/thunderbird in the window and Thunderbird is the default email aplication. Is there any news about this? Greetings I've tried to put "Mozilla Thunderbird" in the window. Now appear Mozilla Thunderbird in the window and Thunderbird is the default email aplication. But I select Thunderbird from applications still doesn't appear in the window. Inside Cauldron and M7, selecting Thunderbird as default Email program in Systemsettings5 => Applications => Default Applications is OK. Therefore, adding a file to a mail from Dolphin menu does not work on M7 but it is OK on Cauldron. Closing this WORKSOME. Resolution:
