Spot the error!
I think i18n is the right assignee for translation things.

This plasmoid has been moved from github to KDE infrastructure. However, its French translation has been lost:

For some reason, Mageia does not package upstream KDE version:

So we cannot fix it now for two reasons:

1. KDE upstream French translation is incomplete.

2. Mageia package is outdated (created from the abandoned branch of development on github).

The first issue can be solved in no time by the KDE Francophone team. For the reference, the string is is in "extragear-base/plasma_applet_org.kde.redshiftControl.po" ("Turned on" in English). Just write an email to them (in French) and I'm sure it will be fixed in a few hours.

The second issue is not so easy to solve. When the first issue is solved just write a note in this bug report and I will write a message to our (KDE) release team to re-release the plasmoid with updated translations. This may take several weeks. Then we should ask Mageia packager to update the package.

The other way (not so fair) is to this the typo by the Mageia-only patch. This should be approved by the package maintainer.

As there is not yet an official KDE release for plasma-redshift I have for now pushed a new update with fixed/completed French translation.

Please test it in Core/Updates_testing repo, thanks in advance!

This bugfix is tested on Mageia 7.1 Plasma under a VM and X11.

1) plasma-applet-redshift-control package is also available on Mageia 8 Cauldron.

2) upstream site has changed and is no longer at

3) There is a similar native function named Night Color in Plasma itself since 5.12 version for Wayland (that's why there is a redshift applet for X11)
and since 5.17 Plasma version for Xorg display server.
As Night Color acts on gamma itself and available on wayland and X11, redshift is no longer necessary for X11 on Plasma.
Also, Night Color functions are exposed to dbus.
