Description Wim Coulier 2011-08-28 10:48:50 CEST
Musicbrainz Picard is a software that allows easy tagging of music files. It is the only one I could find that allows to use automatically download tags from an online source based on the audio fingerprint of the file on a one-by-one basis.
That is very handy to clean you music library for those songs for which you are lacking the id3 tags.
Comment 1 Philippe Didier 2011-08-28 14:34:48 CEST
It was present in Mandriva 2010.2

Please package this software. It's the best tagger available since it uses the large and well maintained Musicbrainz database for tagging.

As of rev 692681 (current as today) this compiles and runs like a charm.

As of rev 692681 (current as today) the .specfile from https://svn.mandriva.com/viewvc/packages/cooker/picard/current/ compiles like a charm and picard runs without problems.

And in "update" for Mageia1 ?

> And in "update" for Mageia1 ?

picard had no maintainer, so I can't assign it, but I already cc'ed the committers.

Any Mga packager who is willing to package picard for Mga 1 is free to do so.

This message is a reminder that Mageia 1 is nearing its end of life.
In approximately 25 days from now, Mageia will stop maintaining and issuing
updates for Mageia 1. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX (EOL) if it
remains open with a Mageia 'version' of '1'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to
fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later
Mageia version prior to Mageia 1's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not
be able to fix it before Mageia 1 is end of life. If you would still like to see
this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia,
you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version
of Mageia.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime,
sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia
release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
