Please can you say:
- What Mageia ISO you installed.
- If the Classic, is Plasma the only desktop you have?
- Confirm that SDDM is the display manager (it will be for Plasma only).
- How many users do you have defined?

We have been using SDDM/Plasma for years without this complaint. I will add a second user to my own system, and test it.

@ Lucien

Can you try whether typing the password and then hitting "enter" works, even if you can't see that any character gets entered?

I cannot reproduce the fault; more exactly, I cannot (yet) reproduce the conditions in which it occurs. I have SDDM, and added a second user to see what happens. Without any login configuration, SDDM shows the last user logged in; to change the username, you have to type it instead. Then whatever password applies.
No problem.

I will see whether I can get SDDM to present a list of users to click on, as implied by the description.

@lucien

Sorry to have left you for so long. At last I have managed to get an SDDM login screen showing all users, and do not see your fault.
Can you please post the output of:
 $ cat /etc/sddm.conf
which will show the theme used by SDDM - which effects its display of users.
Our normal installation uses theme mga-coffee, which only shows the last (or no) logged-in username; no list.

If you are able to get a screenshot of the login screen, or take a photograph, please add that as an attachment to this bug. It will help to simulate a similar situation.

If your system language is not English, please install the package 'ibus-gtk'. This sometimes resolves obscure problems.
