Installation ran smoothly enough and the game appeared in the Applications -> Games menu. It launched fine; the instructions looked thankfully simple, but
"Play" led to a list of levels with all but the first locked and any attempt to go further led back to the Play button. Is this its first bug or am I too old for amorous adventures?
$ fire-and-fondness
OpenGL ES 3.0 Renderer: GeForce GTX 1080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2
182: loading game
182: existing save found; loading
60317: saving game
"Options" showed that Transition and Camera Shake were enabled. Again, in cli mode, Back was the only option after Play.

I've seen that too, it's a design issue. You need to left click the "1" with the mouse to start the level, Return will indeed bring you back to the main menu.
I'll see if I can fix that and propose the fix upstream, as indeed the rest of the game is played only with the keyboard so it's weird to have to use the mouse only for level selection.
Yes, that worked. Did not get far but it does look like the game is working. So, good for 64bits. Whiteboard:
