Description RICHARD LALAU 2019-07-03 10:02:57 CEST
Description of problem:

At installation, only the “/” partition was formatted, the “home” partition was not formatted to retain the Mageia 6 data
No problems with the installation.
3 programs installed after restart: cairo-dock, virtualbox and wine. No problem for cairo-dock, but impossible to launch wine, impossible to launch virtualbox
The subfolder " Tools -Emulator " does not appear. By creating a new user, the subfolder " Tools – Emulator " is present, and the Wine software and virtualbox software appear in the list.

Try this command (as a simple user) in Konsole (I suppose your DE is Plasma):

kbuildsycoca5

This should refresh the applications menu.

It works ! Wine & Virtualbox appear at the place I usually see them.

Thanks !

Summary: Switch from Mageia 6 to Mageia 7: virtualbox and Wine do not appear in the list of software of the former user, they appear if you create a new user => The icons for newly installed programs don't appear in Plasma applications menu

This also happened to me with a fresh install of Mageia 7 with Plasma.
I guess there might be a little tweak to fix this?
