Description Dick Gevers 2019-05-20 18:24:40 CEST
Description of problem:

Install 6.0 final without any updates. Reboot.

Upgrade to 7 RC build 1 dated 12th May 2019.

The 6.0 install was done with all workstations, no servers, all window managers.

During packages install of 7 RC there was a failure of 23 packages. Conclusion was: installation failed. But was able to restart the installing of packages ... Afterwards 10 (!) packages failed. Restart: 8 failed. Restart: 7 failed. But no continuing is possible from here. Aborted

I will attach the screenshots I made of these failures. But /root/drakx only has the report for 6.0 and nothing for 7RC....

If required I can attach the report from this 6.0 install.

Two conflicts should be fixed with:

sgml-common-0.6.3-27.mga7
libkvkontakte-5.0.0-2.mga7

This start is wrong.

Officially we only support upgrade from a fully uptodate Mageia 6.

@ dvg

I'll leave this report open for now, because of all the work you put into it, but please do report which (if any) of the issues remain when upgrading from a fully updated 6 or 6.1, and obsolete the attachments about the solved issues.

After the upgrade, as root doing

    ls /root/drakx/ | grep report

should return

    report.bug
    report.bug.xz

the compressed file being from the original install, the uncompressed one from the upgrade.
Please file a separate bug report if report.bug from the upgrade is missing (and attach its ddebug.log there, if it exists).

Obsoleting this attachment, since daviddavid fixed the sgml-common conflict with sgml-common-0.6.3-27.mga7

@ dvg & daviddavid,

Figuring out which attachment(s)can be obsoleted because of libkvkontakte-5.0.0-2.mga7 is harder than I expected :-(
