Description w unruh 2019-05-17 03:14:55 CEST
Description of problem: Installing Mageian 7 Beta 3 on the Asus Zenbook UX331UA-DS7 does not work at all. Booting into the Mageia 7 beta 3 Plasma iso on a usb drive, once the installer comes up, the trackpad does not work at all (ie the mouse cursor does not work, and the clickpad does not select) the only way of getting the installation to work was to plug in a mouse but that meant that the trackpad driver was not properly installed

The trackpad worked fine in Mageia 7 beta 3 Live iso.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible: Tried rebooting at least twice. Then wanted to get things installed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Mageian 7 beta 3 Plasma iso onto usb stick.
2.Boot from USB stick.
3.Once first installation screen came up, trackpad did not work and did not allow selection/clicking.

Duplicate of bug#20327 and others complaining that tap-to-click is not enabled by default in install/DMs/DEs ?

No.. In this case the trackpad did not work at all. No cursor movement, so clicking or tapping did not work.
Tap to click is not enabled by default after the installation, but that easily rectified (default would be nice), but this is in the install process so that installation is impossible with the trackpad. The only way the installation proceeded was because a mouse was available.

Oops, I spoke too fast and on the basis or your description rather than reading the bug report. Sorry. Yes, the two are very similar, so that duplicate is probably the right term. The trackpad works in Live.

Thanks (also to Frank)
