Please attach log.txt that is the result of running, as root: journalctl -a --since="YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm" --until="YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm" > log.txt and adjust the --since time to right before you started to install texlive-dist and the --until time to right after the transaction was finished. NEEDINFO currently this is "ok". This is caused by the installation script and the abort of the command "yes" The problem was that this was part of a MASSIVE update of the installation of the Mageia 7 Live distro. I had a previous installation of Mageia 5 on a broken machine and was updating this install to include all of the packages in that prior installation. Well over 1000 of them (some of which no longer exist due to name changes for example which had to be weeded out). I have found a couple of lines in journalctl and all they say is install texlive-20180414-12.mga7.x86-64 success. and similarly for three other texlive package installs. Ie, journalctl seems to include no errors associated with these error messages from the install.

sebsweb jepp, the install is ok. it is just this message. (In reply to w unruh from comment #3) > I have found a couple of lines in journalctl and all they say is > install texlive-20180414-12.mga7.x86-64 success. > and similarly for three other texlive package installs. Ie, journalctl seems > to include no errors associated with these error messages from the install. Thank you for all the trouble you have taken over this. So the texlive packages were installed OK. With comments 2 & 4, I think we can close this (wontfix) - but defer doing that. All sorts of software show errors which are are not serious, and work as they should. The bug will remain on record for anyone else seeing the same problem. CC:
