rverschelde PDFsam changed license since version 3 and now comes as an open source PDFsam Basic, while PDFsam Enhanced is proprietary and commercial. PDFsam 2.2.4 that we provide is the last GPL version and is also the "Enhanced" version from back then. Does PDFsam Basic 4.0.1 provide all features of PDFsam Enhanced 2.2.4? I think you're right Rémi: this "basic" 4.0.1 version does not provide all the features we already have with the old 2.2.4e "enhanced" version. It seems it is a good idea to keep the old 2.2.4 "enhanced" version. Closing. Resolution:

WONTFIX I don't see why we couldn't have both the old and ugly enhanced version and the much newer and nicer basic version. Because Java packaging is a huge PITA :) If anyone wants to package PDFsam Basic, feel free to give it a try. |
