Description Len Lawrence 2019-04-07 10:32:09 CEST
Description of problem:
Double-clicking on any of the desktop icons in Cinnamon launches gwenview in whatever directory is associated with that icon, if applicable. gwenview shows no files for Network or Computer. NFS shares, Rubbish bin, Home, external USB drive all point to the correct starting directories. There was a VirtualBox icon which showed nothing because virtualbox had not been installed (leftover from user desktop profile). After the installation of virtualbox this icon behaved normally, launching VBoxManager. Also note that panel icons behave normally, like Files for instance. Left-click on that to launch thunar pointing to Home. Right-clicking on Files raises a menu. Click on Wastebasket for instance and up comes thunar showing the contents, which shows that this anomaly applies to the desktop icons only.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
mga7beta3 round 2

How reproducible:
So far this has been tested only on an install from 64-bit classic iso. It is reproducible on each login.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Cinnamon desktop from mga7beta 3.2 classic iso for x86_64 as part of a multiple desktop installation.
2. Login to cinnamon desktop.
3. Try double-clicking any of the desktop icons like Home or Rubbish bin and expect gwenview to be launched.

No sign of this for the latest RC iso. Icons launch the expected application.
