Description of problem:  I close the lid and the laptop does not wake properly.


Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mga7-beta3-2


How reproducible:  Close lid, wait and open lid


Steps to Reproduce:
1. Close lid
2. Open lid - returns to a blank screen, with a busy mouse symbol
3. Close lid again and open and it comes back to a fresh boot

Yes.

Here is the strange thing.  It cleared up and started working.

I'm tempted to closed this and just suggest we mention it in the erata.  After the first fails, it started working.  Go figure.

Does it happen again after a fresh Gnome install?

If so: does it only happen on the same laptop, or also on different laptops?

this is a 2nd Gen Core i3 toshiba l640 laptop.  I don't have access to another laptop I can build and test on at this moment.

The latest build (7beta3 (11-Apr-2019 build) continued to have this issue.  The issue is inconsistent which makes it more fun.

If no one else reports the same issue, I'm going to chalk it up to hardware.

Here is what is interesting. Sleep mode on that same laptop works on i586 entity running Cinnamon.

I switche laptops, this is an A6-APU machine. I see a variety of interesting errors from the log.  Let me know if you need more.

This referred to Mageia 7 Beta 3 ISO.

Since then, does this still apply? There were several kernel updates in meantime.
Please upgrade to the latest version of packages and reopen this bug against Mageia 7 if this bug exists there.

That's fine.  This was resolved in Gnome, Xfce and Mate.  Plasma still the issue as of yesterday.

Will see if new version of Plasma, when it is released with MGA8, resolves the issue.  Sleep mode in Gnome MGA8 as well as MGa7 works fine.
