(In reply to Brian Rockwell from comment #0) > Description of problem: Sound & Video have no default music player > > > Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): mg7-beta3 > > > How reproducible: build new MGA7 Cinnamon instance only - probably ought to > include Rythmbox or Audacious by default. > Weird, I thought task-cinnamon required task-xapps and task-xapps required xplayer (a generic media player), but I'm wrong: task-cinnamon only recommends task-xapps. Anyway, neither task-xapps nor xplayer were on the beta2 ISOs, so they're likely not on the beta3 ISOs, either (I assume 4GB is still the size limit). Assigning to the ISO builders, for them to decide what should be done. CC'ing the Cinnamon maintainer. Assignee:

Release (media or process) Really CC'ing now :-( @ Brian Do you mind attaching /root/drakx/report.bug.xz in case I miss something? It's always good to attach that file for classical install issues ;-) CC:

report.bug.xz - no player
Attaching report.bug.xz per request. :-)
The limit is now 4.3GiB (bug 11446 comment 23), so there's still a bit of room. However, the classical installer only installs task-cinnamon-minimal, so adding xplayer on the ISO wouldn't help. I think we need to change rpmsrate. Rhythmbox is the default for GNOME, so is that the best choice? It looks like there isn't a default audio player for MATE either. CC:

mageia My opinion - yeah Rhythmbox is probably best for Cinnamon. This may be a fallacy, but I thought cinnamon was build on top or based on gnome. Is that accurate? Mate should be Audacious or Rhythmbox. Audacious is extremely light on resources and it just works on old equipment. Both seem to be included in the classic DVD as I installed them directly without external network resources. Thanks Everyone! For simplicity I've made Rhythmbox the default for both. Audacious will still be there for those who prefer it. Should be fixed in the next ISO build. Thanks Martin Rhythmbox is included and working as designed in Cinnamon desktop - x86_64 Working as designed. Status:
