Description Kristoffer Grundström 2019-03-04 20:49:49 CET
Description of problem: I have seen this recently and even though the network connection works when I login to MATE (the only installed desktop environment on my PC) I can't really tell if there's any unusual behaviour with the Wi-Fui interface or not. It doesn't disconnect and/or reconnect, but it still shouldn't say that if the network connection works.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 9.55-24

How reproducible: Every bootup.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot the installation of Mageia 6 using the net install iso.
2. Choose to install MATE as DE.
3. Update with all medias except Testing or Backports.
4. Reboot and press ESC during the kernel boot sequence.

This is an old bug, it was already mentioned in bug 11102 and in the forums years ago https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?t=6459 I still see it in cauldron.

However, I don't find an open bug report for it, so assigning this one to the Base System maintainers.

And the same on the Mageia 8 Live alpha isos. It delays the boot.
The network-up service should be disabled by default, and not enabled back again after installation.
Disabling it does not affect a working network connection.
