Kodi 18 starts to bundle it's own copy of the Mozilla certificate store. The certs file is packaged in /usr/share/kodi/system/certs/cacert.pem

Users on an addon I follow have alreaddy started to file bugs that is because of this file is outdated in kodi 18.0 (we allready have 18.1).

This could result in bug repports that is more work that it needs to.
Sometime we might need to update kodi simply because that file is outdated.

The certs folder should be removed and symlinked to our /etc/pki/tls/rootcerts/ folder, or the cacert.pem file sould be removed and symlinked to /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt

mga6, x86_64

Smooth installation.  kodi launches from the command-line.  Local files all visible, NFS shares.  Checked hardware details and version information - all OK.
Picture galleries showed up fine.  Browsed Videos and played one OK with sound.
Used browser to look at my music playlists directory and opened an m3u file and played a couple of tracks from that.

This looks fine to me.

The test is to use an addon that play videos from the internet. Like the Youtube addon.
The certificate issue is only relevant for internet playback.

Sorry about that.  What you say does not seem to be indicated anywhere in the bug.  No idea how to obtain an internet video plugin.  Shall poke around.

Well, that was easy.  Found video add-ons and selected ESA-videos to install and then selected from their all videos menu.  Played a couple of short videos OK.  Reinstating the 64-bit OK.

Just noticed this in the terminal.

$ kodi
libva info: VA-API version 0.39.4
libva info: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva info: Trying to open /usr/lib64/dri/nvidia_drv_video.so
libva info: va_openDriver() returns -1

It does not seem to affect playback.

Stig, Johnny, please advise if the terminal messages reported by Len could be a problem.

If not, I will validate on the basis of his tests.

Whether or not they are significant is irelevant.
They are not relevant to this bug and therefore belong in their own bug repport. :-)
