Description Jybz 2019-02-12 13:10:06 CET
Hi,

Ring/Jami software is flooding the register, for example :
https://framabin.org/p/?7d23bc94e0e21a51#2HO4jns/QpODtpTpDAMNBBq4gxurJncZMz1NEKchz9c=

One line example :
[ 6317.205297] net-fw DROP IN=wlp3s0 OUT= MAC=48:51:b7:84:99:e6:00:09:0f:67:a6:02:08:00 SRC=82.147.53.219 DST=10.126.132.198 LEN=83 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=52 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=5234 DPT=8454 LEN=63

It is working, I can send messages and receiving it from two devices, on both directions.
But having a flooded dmesg is taking place and is not helping for other research.

I can't find any jami app in our repositories, although ring-client-gnome has a /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/jami.svg

Are you referring to ring-client-gnome or to ring-kde or ...?

(CC'ing the Gnome and KDE maintainers, in case this is a known issue)

Btw, please attach your log to this report. The log in framabin will expire in 5 days.

CC: (none) => gnome, kde, marja11

Yes, jami is the new name of Ring, I guess the binaries will be renamed soon, sorry I anticipated too early ;)
I think the right package should be "ring-daemon" rather than clients, but clients applications start automatically the daemon I believe.

Done

Conversation history doesn't help much as it's mainly in French.

daviddavid speaks French, he maintains ring-daemon (and even ring-client-gnome) and he is in KDE team :-)

Assigning to him.
