Description Alan Richter 2019-02-03 01:39:21 CET
Description of problem:
Objects in the solar system such as the moons, saturn's rings and minor planets such as pluto, sedna are not appearing.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Always.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bring up celestia
2. hit Enter to bring up the celestia search.
3. enter Saturn (hit return)
4. hit "g" to travel to Saturn
5. observe there are no rings and no moons.

This may be a problem with celestia itself but I suspect there are bits missing from celestia data.

Everything works fine here on x64 xfce.
Comment 3 Alan Richter 2019-02-03 19:19:47 CET
Very strange, I uninstalled celestia and reinstalled, removed .celestiarc and ~/gconf/celestia. I started it back up and no rings. I then tried it in my RPM building VMs in icewm and xfce in x86_64 and i586 and saw rings and pluto. I finally tried it in a vnc session on my host computer, no rings.

It sounds like something on my system so it has something to do with my system and nothing else.

Please close this ticket and thank you for looking into it.

I just poked on preferences then "Objects" and I had minor planets, moons and rings unchecked.

I apologize for wasting the team's time on this "issue", please close this issue and thank you reminding me to look at my preferences.
