geiger.david68210, juergen.harms, juergen.harms, yann.cantin I agree. In fact, I have ported several of my schemas and layouts from Geda (pcb) to Kicad. Decision not based on a judgment of the quality of the of the user value of the respective cad products, but rather on release policy and responsiveness of package maintenance to technical progress.

I abandoned - I have not used kikad for quite some time, and did not realize that with the new library stucture I need to heavily invest in updating my private component libraries - which I cannot do right now.
Sorry for the unkept promise.
