Assigning to all packagers collectively, since there is no registered maintainer for this package. Maybe upstream hasn't found a way to add or remove that icon depending on whether you have a fax-printer-all-in-one or just a printer-scanner or printer. CC:

geiger.david68210, marja11 M7beta2, Xfce ISO: bug still present - but the program is there (so my initial comment was wrong, although the bug title is correct): ls -l /usr/bin | grep sendfax lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Ion 8 21:10 hp-sendfax -> ../share/hplip/sendfax.py* $ hp-sendfax HP Linux Imaging and Printing System (ver. 3.18.12) PC Sendfax Utility ver. 9.0 Copyright (c) 2001-15 HP Development Company, LP This software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. This is free software, and you are welcome to distribute it under certain conditions. See COPYING file for more details. error: No device found that support this feature. ---------------------- So this is sensible. Does the trivial problem warrant this bug? It is just mystifying, and no normal person would try it without having a fax machine connected. If somebody wants to close it 'invalid', I shall not mind. (In reply to Marja Van Waes from comment #1) > Maybe upstream hasn't found a way to add or remove that icon depending on > whether you have a fax-printer-all-in-one or just a printer-scanner or > printer. That's asking a bit too much for a simple menu item. We could also just hide or remove the menu entry - but then maybe that one person actually using this would miss it. Closing per Lewis last comment. Resolution:
