thierry.vignaud There (atleast used to be) software that expected systemwide "pci.ids oui.txt usb.ids" to be available drerectly under /usr/share/. So instead of patching those (and we cant patch 3rdparty / external) packages, it was decided to keep them there for simplicity / as a service to end-users… I havent checked if the need is still there, but as it does not hurt keeping them, I dont see much point in moving them either...
