yann.cantin Any progress on this? Sorry to be annoying but we're just a bit tired of users coming to the forums with old versions of FreeCAD because their distros aren't up to date. (In reply to kunda 1 from comment #3) > Any progress on this? lists.jjorge Any news about this? I can see on madb.mageia.org that the current version on Cauldron is still freecad-0.16.6712-3.mga7.x86_64.rpm CC:

Ok, cool! :-) (In reply to José Jorge from comment #6) > Stig is working on it, it needs some new libs AFAIK... Quick favor, if it's not too much trouble if stig could mention what libs he/she is updating. I'm tracking them as well and would like to notate that. How is Stig doing? Any specific roadblocks ?

chitty_cloud FWIW the appimage of FreeCAD seem to run nicely. I used 0.17 last spring on mga6, and recently tested some 0.18 briefly OK on mga6. So if users need a recent version now, tell them to use Appimage and point them to https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Ways_to_install_programs#Appimage CC:

fri Stig, I am also progressing on this package. I will try to polish the spec file for tomorrow and give it here if it builds. FYI, I toke the Fedora SPEC file, and get the idea of using the embedded PyCXX version.. Unfortunately, this is not enough to build 100% on Mageia, but the remaining problems look simple to fix. I will also try to add 0.18-pre SPEC file version. Regards CC:

guichard.adrien It's possible to switch freecad on qt5. It was done by OpenMandriva, OpenSuse, Debian. CC:

(none) There was a soft 0.18 release So now latest freecad 0.18 is available on Cauldron! Nice! link please Backport to mga6? (In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #18) > Backport to mga6? +1 backport please FWIW appimage works, except plugins is not supported then Are plugins supported in an install made using Mageia rpm ? (In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #21) > Are plugins supported in an install made using Mageia rpm ? What plugins? Do you mean Addons ? This ticket can be closed IMHO since Mageia 7 and Cauldron support v18.2 Then closed! Resolution:
