Here is rpmbuild output.
Do you know of any reason why we should keep the "old" tex? Since it doesn't work (on x86-64?) and as far as we know pdftex is a full replacement based on the same sources, I'm in favour of removing the "old" tex completely (and provide the symlink of course). CC:

1538 It seems to be a packaging issue, there is no problem like that on other distros. I'm not following this bug any more so if nobody is concerned, please close.
