Description David Pernot 2011-08-04 15:09:49 CEST
Description of problem:
I wrote a spec file for packaging emacs-auctex :
http://git.deap.eu/?p=rpm;a=blob_plain;f=SPECS/emacs-auctex.spec;hb=HEAD
When I try to build the rpm, it produces a fatal xmalloc (see attached file)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Just try to build emacs-auctex

A simple solution is to use /usr/bin/pdftex instead of /usr/bin/tex.
We should rename /usr/bin/tex as /usr/bin/tex_old and symlink /usr/bin/pdftex to /usr/bin/tex.

Regards
David

Do you know of any reason why we should keep the "old" tex? Since it doesn't work (on x86-64?) and as far as we know pdftex is a full replacement based on the same sources, I'm in favour of removing the "old" tex completely (and provide the symlink of course).

Comment 4 David Pernot 2011-08-21 20:25:36 CEST
It seems to be a packaging issue, there is no problem like that on other distros.
I'm not following this bug any more so if nobody is concerned, please close.

Assigning to maintainer now that our maintainers database has an entry for
this package. Please assign back to bugsquad@mageia.org in case of a mistake
from me.
