you can use su - for that ... Summary:
Include root access as administrator =>
Include gksu in the iso I was trying to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst which required gedit as root more here https://forums.mageia.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=863&p=6382#p6382 so having GKSU installed isn't a necessitity maybe a package of tools for intermediate users I couldn't figure out how to us su to get where I needed to go thanks for your hard work I don't think we need that one on CDs but anyway let's fix the RPM package field CC:

(none) I was really asking for an enhancement since I'm running KDE these days, no more gedit no idea if it's possible to edit configuration files on M2 KDE uses kdesu which is part of kdebase4-runtime. gksu is part of isos at least on Mageia 4 devel. Closing this bug then Status:
