How reproducible: always
1. clean install of Mageia-Cauldron-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso  created 2018-09-01 08:29:00 -0500
2. Enable nonfree and tainted media.
3. Pick Custom package install
4. in Package Group Selection screen, set all package groups selected except
   Other Graphical Desktops. In that one select GNOME, Plasma, Xfce
5. UN-select all update selections.
6. grep mutter /root/drakx/ddebug.log

IIUC, that error was indeed in stage2, but before the actual install, even before the select_language step:

* starting step `selectLanguage'

No idea why that is. There's new mutter-3.30.0-1.mga7 in cauldron, maybe it's better when stage2 gets rebuilt with it.

new clean install has  mutter-3.30.0-1.mga7 with 
Sep  5 20:01 Mageia-Cauldron-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso
still has the plugin problem.
