Description of problem:

When Live media are used to install from boot menu this is done by means of GUIs on screen that use less than 25% of the entire screen. But in this mode they cannot be enlarged. It would be nicer if they could be, for example when doing custom disk partitioning for a lot of partitions it would be lots more customer friendly to enlarge the GUI

I've wished the same every time I've tested that feature. We can't easily make the window resizable, because it is displayed using the matchbox window manager, which doesn't support that. But we could look at detecting the actual screen size and adapting the size of the window accordingly.

For now, providing you aren't running on a machine with too little RAM, the solution is to boot to the live desktop and run the installer from there - then you can resize the window as much as you like.

I have increased the default size of the window (unless you have a very low resolution screen. That's probably the best I can do for now.

Live ISOs dated 02 DEC 2018 (3rd round) does not show improvement here.

Laptop is capable of 1600x900 resolution or better...

No, this is the one I meant. If it looks exactly like that, you've got the new larger size. If there's much less grey border, it's still the original size.

This is on a 1680x1050 screen.

To expand it further, I would need to find a way to scale the fixed size images, otherwise it starts to look bad. I'd also need to stop it expanding when run from the desktop. But building/testing/fixing ISOs is consuming all my spare time at the moment...
