That's a rather recent SSD, isn't it? The reason might be that ldetect-lst on the Mageia 6 iso is too old to detect it, I hope current ldetect-lst knows about that SSD. Assigning to the ldetect-lst maintainer, also because he speaks French, like the reporter of this bug. CC'ing basesystem maintainers and isobuilders (because they're about to build Mageia 6.1) CC:

basesystem, isobuild, marja11 ldetect-lst does not matter in this case... If the kernel does not detect the hw, it wont have anything to install on... I suspect the installer kernel does not detect the disk controller... You can try a network install with the isos from here: http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/mageia.org/people/tmb/mga6/netinstall/ That uses a newer kernel that hopefully should be able to detect it CC:

kernel Bonjour, j'ai réessayé avec la nouvelle version Mageia-6.1-LiveDVD-GNOME-x86_64-DVD.iso avec le même message d'erreur. Qui contacter pour être sur que le disque sera pris en compte par la prochaine version? Merci François Fresneau (In reply to Thomas Backlund from comment #2) > ldetect-lst does not matter in this case... "I did a try with new release Mageia-6.1-LiveDVD-GNOME-x86_64-DVD.iso with the same error message. Who to contact to be sure that the disk will be recognized with the next release?" You have the good contact here. You didn't what Thomas asked, I presume that the link he gave is not the same as the current ISOs. To be sure that there no error with diskdrake, can you try gparted in Live session, to see if the disk is also not visible with it? CC:

yves.brungard_mageia Hello
I have just tried gparted from Mageia-6.1-LiveDVD-GNOME-x86_64-DVD.iso, it sees only live disk, nothing else.

I checked than gparted doesn't detect the disk. So what are next steps? Merci François Mageia 6 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2019-09-30. It is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Mageia version. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we weren't able to fix it before Mageia 6's end of life. If you are able to reproduce it against a later version of Mageia, you are encouraged to click on "Version" and change it against that version of Mageia. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Mageia release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. If you would like to help fixing bugs in the future, don't hesitate to join the packager team via our mentoring program [1] or join the teams that fit you most [2].
