Description Kristoffer Grundström 2018-06-08 07:09:09 CEST
Description of problem: After installing task-lamp I do mysql_secure_installation as root and I'm asked to write the root password which I do and press Enter/Return.

This is the result:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3-6

How reproducible: Everytime.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login as root in a terminal window.
2. Type urpmi task-lamp and hit Enter/Return.
3. When asked to type the root password, type it and hit Enter/Return.
4. Voila! The above error shows up and the setup fails.

I could be mistaken, but it looks as if Mageia 6 is behind releases of this package. At least when I look here:

Hi Kristoffer,
