multiple instances of krename
This is more an upstream bug rather than a mageia one. CC:

There's a patch to make batch renaming in Dolphin easier https://phabricator.kde.org/D10698 No idea whether it was created because doing that with krename in Dolphin is still impossible or too hard... it seems that in 2016, krename was not (yet) integrated into Dolphin https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371383#c1 Summary:
krename is broken =>
Batch renaming with krename in Dolphin doesn't work. Sorry, I forgot to specify that this "regression" occurs in konqueror, also: it used to work fine in konqueror, it used to work fine in dolphin, when I switched to that, now it's fubar in both. Looking at the linked page for the Dolphin patch, I see this proposes an enhancement to the Dolphin right-click "Rename" item, "not to replace KRename", so, no, I don't think it has any relationship to my experience of a loss of years-long productive functionality of krename in konqueror or dolphin. Before I filed this bug, I searched here and google for some existing such reports but found none. When I've got the time, if no solution becomes evident, I'll pursue "upstream". Thanks for your help. Strange. Everything works here. 1. Select multiple files in Dolphin. 2. Right-click and choose "Actions -> Rename with KRename". 3. All files are here, ready for renaming... KRename works through service menus now. No need to "Open with", just do the corresponding action. Thanks, Yuri. I didn't know of "Actions". Old habits... ;P Status:
