fri Thanks Frédéric for the report This was reported before we had good list of all needed updates and a repeatable method do install exactly them, so maybe it was caused because of an incomplete update. If no none can confirm within a few days i suggest to close as invalid. Ever confirmed:

I installed all available updates related to Plasma & co, and I can still reproduce the problem. See this new screenshot to see what my panel parameters are. Note that you have to reboot to see the problem. If you edit parameters and immediately check the result, everything looks fine (correct number of thumbnails), but after a reboot, the problem is visible (one extra thumbnail).
Setting it back to NEW, because the problem is still present. Ever confirmed:

1 Trying to track it down then... Do this also happen if you create a new user and log in as that? (In reply to Morgan Leijström from comment #5) > Do this also happen if you create a new user and log in as that? I couldn't reproduce with a new account. I configured the desktop to use the same theme (Oxygen), to be sure, but things are working correctly there. Note that my existing account comes from a clean installation of Mageia 6 (I never do upgrades as things rarely work correctly). I'm decreasing the severity, because it's definitely not a blocker. Severity:

minor I just updated my Mageia 6 with all updates present in testing. I confirm the problem. The last thumbnail, at right, is inactive and as no title. The thumbnail is the same as the first one at left. CC:

mageia According to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=389469#c15 this was fixed upstream. CC:

rihoward1 mga6 is EOL so is this bug still valid for mga7? Seems this upstream patch is merged in our plasma-desktop 5.15.4 CC:
(none) =>
geiger.david68210 The upstream patch is from Plasma/5.12 and created June 2018 so it should already be in Mageia 7. Then this bug should be Closed as fixed or old! Closing as old then. Please reopen if problem still shows up. Status:

Created attachment 10030 [details] screenshot When an application has N windows opened (with N > 1), hovering the corresponding icon in the dashboard shows N+1 thumbnails, which is confusing. Previously, there were exactly N thumbnails, as expected. New feature in Plasma 5.12 or a bug? If it's a new feature, is there a way to disable this extra thumbnail?
