Results of debug X11 nVidia driver

Description aguador 2018-02-09 11:26:53 CET
After rebuilding my Cauldron installation (upgrading from Mga6), I am unable to install the proprietary driver for the nVidia card.

# urpmi x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-390.25-1.mga7.nonfree.x86_64
The following packages cannot be installed because the depend on older packages than those already installed:
lib64zlib-devel-1.2.11-4.mga6
lib64elfutils-devel-0.170-1.mga7
kernel-desktop-devel-4.14.16-1.mga7-1-1.mga7
dkms-2.0.19-39.mga6
dkms-nvidia-current-390.25-1.mga7.nonfree
x11-driver-video-nvidia-current-390.25-1.mga7.nonfree

Weird. I dont see that problem here...

Can you provide the output of the following commands:

urpmq --list-url --list-media active

urpmi --debug x11-driver-video-nvidia-current

CC: (none) => tmb

I should have tried another mirror, but this problem has persisted for about a week now on findrpm mirror.

Results of debug X11 nVidia driver

The problem seems to be lib64zlib1-1.2.11-4.1.mga6.x86_64 v. lib64zlib1-1.2.11-4.mga6.x86_64.

Ah, indeed... seems the bugfix MGAA-2017-0125 in mga6 was newver pushed to cauldron, so the upgrade path broke... and by cauldron install was before that, so I never hit it :/

Anyway, a zlib-1.2.11-5.mga7 is on the way to the mirrors and should resolve this...

Thanks for the quick reply -- and glad to hear that an update in on its way.
Comment 6 aguador 2018-02-10 12:04:38 CET
lib64zlib1-1.2.11-5.mga7.x86_64 installed along with proprietary driver and bbswitch and the display is back to normal so bug can be closed. Thank you!
