When I use drakx11, then it does not matter which screen resolution I choose. Every test says: (EE) Fatal server error When I boot with Mageia6-Xfce-Live and open the MCC and the Graphical Server, then I get these correct and perfect settings: graphic card: Intel 810 and later monitor: Flat Panel 1440x900 resolution: 1440x900 24 bpp Why can't this also be used for the installed Mageia 6? (In reply to Franz Holzinger from comment #0) > Description of problem: > > I have this error with the Mageia-6-GNOME-LiveDVD: > > "xt_addrtype: ipv6 does not support BROADCAST matching" As noted in the other bug report, that message is just informational. Normally the system switches to graphical mode before it is output, so you don't see it. > Then it stops booting. Is this before or after you reach the screen that asks you to select a language? If before, check again that the md5sum of the ISO is correct, and if you can, try copying onto and using a different DVD or USB stick. There shouldn't be any difference between the GNOME Live and the Xfce Live before you reach that point. When you say > I need these kernel parameters: > acpi=off xdriver=vesa are you also using those parameters when you use the Xfce Live? What led you to use those parameters? CC:

mageia I have tried it again without adding of any kernel parameter. Now the GNOME Live DVD works. I have used the paramter xdriver=vesa because it has been needed with Mageia 4 and 5. I have added "acpi=off" because of ACPI exception messages. Resolution:

WORKSFORME Glad to hear your problem is resolved. It's quite common to see error messages about ACPI when the system boots - see bug 20090. Unless they cause real problems, it's best to just ignore them. Setting acpi=off may disable some functions which would otherwise work. Keywords:
