Description of problem:
When installing Mageia (Classical or Live) or using the MCC to set the graphical server, there is a "Test" tool that doesn' work. Remove the button that is useless and even dangerous from the GUI.

Does it no longer work for anyone?

It used to work on several of my machines, but I don't remember when I last used it. Don't want to try, now, because I haven't yet rebooted since installing new mesa and x11-server.

and new kernel, of course ;-)

Anyway the tool works fine here, with an old intel video card
https://waesvanm.home.xs4all.nl/Mageia/XFdrake_test.jpg

After pressing Test there's a little dialogue, asking whether you want to test your settings, and a warning that testing this graphic card can freeze your computer. If you then decide not to test, you can select "No" to avoid testing.

Tbh, this tool has proven to be very useful for me, I'd rather _not_ see it removed.

I vote for closing this report as wontfix.

However, maybe it is possible to figure out with which video cards the tool does freeze computers, and only stop offering this tool if such a card was detected??

Summary: Remove the Graphic Test tool that doesn't work (MCC and Installer) => Remove the Graphic Test tool that doesn't work (MCC and Installer) - However, for others it works fine!!

Adjusting the Summary accordingly

I recently used it in MGA6 after all the update process and without reboot

Works fine in vbox with 4.9.35 kernel
The vty used to make the test and to show the message is the vty3

The system is usable (I can change between ttys, I can return to X while the message is not closed/accepted)

Andre, Can You supply us with the Xorg.conf file, the graphic board model (lspci)?
Marja, Can You start a qa-discuss thread, to everyone verify if this is reproducible and in what graphic boards?

As I though the tool wasn't reliable, i never used it for a long time. I recently made new tests on three computers, and indeed it works fine !
I opened this bug file after a doc meeting in order to update the documentation, but there is nothing to update, the tool is working again.
