This is a weird one.  As of FF 57, pages where mouse-over on some images used to display tooltip text no longer do so.

The classic example was the cartoon image at http://www.xckd.com , where mouse-over displayed a a comment by the author.  I considered that xckd might have stopped using it, but the xckd archives all now display the same lack of mouse-over response.  Moreover, the tooltips still appear in chromium.

Suddenly as of yesyerday's cauldron update this is working again.
