Just for the record: it seems I can get the desired effect by running this command as root: ln -sf /etc/sound/profiles/pulse /etc/alternatives/soundprofile but update-alternatives seems to be malfunctioning.

mageiatools Not reproduced under actual Cauldron. Note: x86_64 nonfree-netinstall with Plasma selected as DE from: http://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/mageia.org/distrib/cauldron/x86_64/install/images/Mageia-Cauldron-netinstall-nonfree-x86_64.iso dated of 2020-Oct-30 10:38:44 Updated srpm. Seems thing has been fixed. Also, Pulseaudio is enabled by default on all my sound cards (Internal Motherboard, HDMI via graphical card). Closing this old. Please feel free to reopen if not fixed for you. Status:
