Description of problem:
Just updated the nvidia-GL packages.  Now xscreensaver openGL hacks no longer work.  Seems identical to the 2016 bug in the quoted URL.  The error message is the same.

If a better report comes in, please make this the duplicate.  I'd rather not have the carriage of an OpenGL bug.

There has been a new X driver RPM for nvidia.  Either that has fixed the bug, or the problem has simply gone away.
